This documentary speaks with people from Indigenous tribes across the United States about the importance and the history of the wacipi - or, in English, pow wow. While the documentary moves through the stages of a pow wow, it talks about the history of Native American tribes, the injustice and terror they and their ancestors faced at the hands of the Minnesotan and US Government, and the joy each person feels in honoring their culture and participating in the pow wow. 00:00 Wacipi/Pow Wow 02:16 Okawingapi/Grand Entry 04:31 Cancega/Tewigan/Drum 10:02 Niimi Wayaanan/Regalia 13:45 Wicahcana Wacipi/Men's Traditional Dance 16:58 Winyan Ahana Wacipi/Women's Traditional Dance 19:11 Akicita/Ogichidaa/Warrior 20:51 Makoce Nupa Umanipi/Walking In Two Worlds 25:13 Wicohan On Wowicakupi/Giveaway 28:31 Pezi Wacipi/Grass Dance 32:09 Wakanheja/Children 35:32 Ziibaaska-Igan Niimiwin/Jingle Dress Dance 39:25 Witkosni/Sober 42:18 Sina Unpi Skehan Wacipi/Fancy Shawl Dance 48:17 Waboga Unpi Skehan Wacipi/Men's Fancy Dance 54:35 Wacipi/Pow Wow - All People Are Welcome ________________________________________________ Enjoy what you're watching?
