Why the need to perform Vaidika Karmas?
According to Vedas and as also told by Lord Sri Krishna in Bhagavath Geetha all creatures arise from annam (food grains). Food is produced because of the clouds that rain in the right season. Clouds are created by the Karmas (oblations in fire) that are performed according to the tenets of Vedas for Loka Kalyanam.
Importance of this Yagam
Sri Prathama Agnishtoma Yagam forms starting stage of soma yagam of such Veda Vihitha 7 Somayagas performing which will enable humankind to win over the gross sensory organs (Indiryas) and get long life which will help in furthering the spiritual evolution. In this 4 shastras 6 Gharmas which is a cluster of mantras from Rig & Sama Vedas is recited hearing which will wash away all the sins, as the Vedas claim.
Hence, it is our warm invitation to one and all to participate in the Yagam and contribute in cash (for yaga daskshina) and in kind (rice, ghee, clothes, gold etc.) and be get the grace and blessings of Sri Yagneswara.
