我很幸運能在美國西北太平洋地區的美麗哥倫比亞河峽谷中，與父母和六個兄弟一起成長。這裡的山脈和丘陵覆蓋著高聳的常綠樹。河流、瀑布和溪流切割著地景，濕潤的雨林氣候讓一切保持茂盛與綠意。這片土地充滿生機與活力，從流動的河水到吹過峽谷的急風，非常生動。
熊、山獅、郊狼、浣熊、鹿、麋鹿、兔子和松鼠，以及無數的鳥類，都在附近的森林中棲息，讓我們時刻保持警覺。
住在這裡的人們經常在森林步道上健行，沿著歷史悠久的公路和鄉間小路騎自行車，或在湖泊和河流中游泳、釣魚。
如果想再多冒險一個半小時，往東可以到赫德山，往西則能抵達太平洋。這裡有各式各樣令人興奮且震撼的戶外活動，當天氣終於放晴時，每個人都從溫暖的家中走出，探索所有的自然美景。上帝的創造是如此奇妙！

Stephen (老外爸爸)
I was blessed to grow up with my parents and 6 brothers in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, which is located in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. The mountains and hills here are blanketed with towering evergreen trees. Rivers, waterfalls, and streams cut through the landscape, and the wet rainforest climate keeps everything lush and green. The land is teaming with life, and movement, from the flowing water, to the rushing winds that blow through the gorge. Bears, mountain lions, coyotes, raccoons, deer, elk, rabbits, and squirrels and myriads of birds all make their home in the nearby forests and keep us ever on the lookout.
Those of us who call this place home are often found hiking the forest trails, riding bikes along historic highways and byways, and swimming or fishing in the lakes and rivers. If someone wants to venture another 1.5 hours out of town, you have your choice of going east to Mount Hood, or west, to the Pacific Ocean. There is such a wide variety of exciting and breathtaking outdoor activities, and when the weather finally clears up, everyone emerges from their cozy homes to explore all the natural beauty. God's creation is so amazing!
