Exploring Abandoned Railway Station @ Dinting Railway Centre. Part 2
In this Mondays part 2 video I explore the derelict remains of the former Manchester bound platform buildings and the Buxton Model Engineering Societies miniature railway track at the former Dinting Steam Locomotive Shed & Yard near Glossop in Derbyshire which when it was abandoned by British Rail in the late 1960s was taken over by the Bahamas Locomotive Society who created the Dinting Railway Centre which operated until the early 1990s when the society was evicted by the landlord in a bitter dispute that led the society to abandon Dinting and move to Ingrow on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway in West Yorkshire. I also discover what I believe may be old super heater boiler tubes from LMS Jubilee locomotive 45596 Bahamas.
With thanks to the Bahamas Locomotive Society, Nicholas Tozer & Traingunz for archive footage used to illustrate the demise of this once great railway museum. Please visit their website & channels at the links below 👇
