Our adventure begins in the vibrant coastal city of Kota Kinabalu, where we dive into the heart of local culture by savoring fresh seafood and experiencing the lively atmosphere of this bustling port. From there, we set off on a thrilling motorbike ride to the very tip of Borneo, skimming along winding coastal roads with breathtaking ocean views and stopping to explore secluded beaches and charming villages along the way. Leaving the coastline behind, we head to the majestic Mt. Kinabalu region, where the lush landscapes and towering mountains are home to the indigenous Mari Mari tribe. Here, we immerse ourselves in local traditions and gain a deeper understanding of Borneo’s rich cultural heritage. Next, we journey to Sepilok for a rare chance to encounter the island's iconic orangutans up close. Our time in the jungle continues with three nights on the river, where we embark on exciting boat safaris and stay deep within the rainforest, surrounded by exotic wildlife and the tranquil sounds of nature. This area of Borneo is called The Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary. Our adventure culminates with an exhilarating climb up Mt. Kinabalu itself.
