Molokai is a lush and peaceful island that harkens back to the original Hawaiian taro farmers and fishermen. It is also the birthplace of the hula dance and has an untouched feel to it centuries later. It’s so laidback, there’s not even a since traffic light! It is most famously known for its dark past, where the Hawaiian rulers of the day banished those afflicted with leprosy to a peninsula on the island. Today, Molokai has managed to keep traditions intact as a way of life instead of becoming another over-developed Hawaiian island.
