Power Island is a small ~200 acre island in Grand Traverse Bay in Michigan. It is a unique slice of forestland in the middle of a tourist mecca with room for hiking and camping. The history is one of leisure activity more than industry. From famous people to pigs, the island has some interesting aspects. It used to be called Marion Island, Island Number 10, Hawk Island, Ford Island, Hog Island and more. I dust off the sea kayak and paddle out to hike and explore this interesting place that was once owned by Henry Ford. 0:00 Intro 0:49 Kayaking and Sea Plane 3:07 Arrive at the Island 4:33 Hiking 8:00 Leaving the Treasure 10:34 Flooded Land Bridge to Bassett Island 10:55 Ranger Residence 12:20 Kayak to Bassett Island
