In some ways, we have it easy. We get to film what we want, when we want, which means in the middle of Thailand's worst heat wave ever, we spent three weeks filming mostly indoors and avoiding the brunt of the weather. But not everyone has that choice- and in a country where many people still make their living outside, and 80% of the population doesn't have access to air conditioning, we wanted to understand how food and drinks have been developed to counter the worst of the springtime heat.
So we took a walk...a long walk, across the entirety of Bangkok's old city, eating and drinking whatever we found that could help us get through a day when the local temperatures hit some of the hottest on record.
