Exploring The History of Jurassic Park The Ride (Universal Studios Florida/Hollywood/Japan)
The Jurassic Park River Adventure is a high tech thrilling boat ride that once existed at Universal Studios Hollywood and Still lives on at Universal Studios Orlando. When the ride first launched in 1996 it was one of the most expensive theme park attractions ever built costing a total of 110 Million dollars. The price alone was double the amount of money it took to make the first Jurassic park film. And I would say it was worth every penny for Universal to spare no expense. The Jurassic Park Ride in my eyes sits among the greats when it comes to classic theme park attractions. A modern day Pirates of the Caribbean and it similarly showcases the company's strengths in theming and animatronics. This Ride has been in operation at Universal Orlando for 25 years and as much as the ride is showing its age with its elderly dinosaur animatronics that still doesn't seem to take away from the charm and nostalgia the ride still carries. So today let's take a deep dive into the History of the Jurassic Park River Adventure on both coasts but also look into how both versions are holding up in the futuristic hellscape year of 2025.
