Nine miles southwest of Tombstone lies two nearly forgotten ghost towns along the San Pedro River, Millville and Charleston. In the late 1870s, Millville was established to process silver ore mined near Tombstone, with Charleston springing across the river.
Both towns flourished for about eight years, then a series of unfortunate events led to the collapse of both towns, and by 1889, both were ghost towns.
After their time as inhabited towns ended, the tow towns took different paths. Millville has an established trail to visit its ruins, complete with informational signs, while Charleston lies hidden amongst the brush, with no established trails to reach it, and very few visitors.
In this video we venture out and explore the remains of both towns and the their link to Tombstone.
