Major Melanie "MACH" Kluesner is the Commander of the F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team at 388th Fighter Wing, Hill AFB, Utah. Her team showcases the cutting-edge capabilities of the 5th generation stealth fighter and highlights the history of the U.S. Air Force through heritage formation flights.
Maj. Kluesner is an experienced fighter pilot with over 1,000 flight hours in the F-16C, F-35B, and F-35A. She made history as the first USAF pilot to deploy in the F-35B. She commissioned into the Air Force in 2015, graduated from the University of Southern California, and has served in various operational roles across South Korea, Japan, and the U.S.
Now leading the F-35A Demo Team, she performs airshows nationwide, inspiring future generations and demonstrating the power of America’s most advanced stealth fighter.
