In this video i fabricate a new turbo shield for a tractor puller that will be competing in the super farm class with the British tractor pulling association (BTPA)
The old turbo shield had been altered a few times for different turbos and didn't necessarily meet the rules and regs so the customer wanted a new one making.
I first drew it up in CAD best i could following the new lines and with a deeper and longer shell. I then cut the parts out with the cnc plasma cutter and roller the new shell. The holes were drilled and tapped using the the tapping head and then welded together using the tig and mig welder.
I also had an emergency brake down come in where the link ball pin had snapped off the end of a drawbar link for a cultivator. I cut the old pin out using the gas torch, machined a new one up on the lathe then welded it back in.
