11/24/24 First blitz encounter of the Fall Run. Feel like everyone was seeing this everywhere but first one for me and nothing really happened for me and my brother. But the bite was there throughout the day. 00:00 The first catch of the day was an unexpected catch, a Skate. 00:33 Hooked a nice one but came off shortly after. 00:45 1st Striper of the day 23" 6lb. 02:49 After a quick shuteye, heading out for round 2 for the sunrise bite. 03:11 Wading out to a sandbar. 04:41 2nd Striper 26" 7lb. 06:35 Brother catching his and I'm getting my line wrapped up. 07:25 3rd Striper 28" 8lb. 11:44 26" Striper was harvested with the bonus tag. Went to car and put it in the cooler to keep it fresh. On way the way back, noticed water was getting deeper so I was using the rod to make sure I don't accidentally step on drop off or a hole to ruin the day or even die. Something I can't imagine doing if I had any other reel on the rod. 13:57 Peanut Bunker and adult Bunker was everywhere running wild. You literally feel your lure hitting them as you retrieve your lure. 15:02 A swing and a miss #01. 15:19 Whale shots and they weren't that hard to see this year from the beach. I had to zoom in to see it due to how I record with the GoPro but it looks much bigger in real life. 15:55 A swing and a miss #02. 16:12 A swing and a miss #03. 16:35 All this time, every blitz was out of casting distance, but this one was within the casting distance for the metal. The lure was switched to metal and trying to cast as far as I can to reach it. 17:41 Blitz incoming! First one of the year not only within the casting distance, it was actually happening right in front of us. Of course my line had to be tangled up when it's about to happen and also had to swap out the lure since the metal wasn't going to work here. Everyone hooked up but me and my brother couldn't hook up anything. Either case, blitz is a such a rush and chaos when it happens. 20:16 People on right of me all seem to have fish on. I couldn't believe I didn't hook up any during the blitz. 21:02 Saw a couple of Stripers right in front of us but again, couldn't get any. 21:18 Finally hooked up on a Striper after the blitz. The brother and I both hooked up at same time but mine came off right in front of me. 22:35 4th Striper 30.5" 10lb. Things happen when fishing packed. The man who was fishing to right of me had his lure little to the left and my Striper decided to head right. Gave him a heads up but little too late. No one's fault, I cast little to the left or right intentionally or accidentally too. It just happens when fishing tightly packed. I just hoped the tangle wasn't bad so he can fish right after untangling it. Wave wasn't helping and the man decided to cut his line to retie it. 26:45 Walking back to shore. Blitz still happening time to time and Stripers were being caught still but we decided to leave as we've been fishing about 11 hours already, tired, hungry and limit out Striper.
