Today, I'm in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, one of the most sacred and fascinating cities in the world. Makkah is not only the birthplace of Islam and the destination of the Hajj pilgrimage, but also a vibrant and diverse city with a lot of shopping options. In this vlog, I'm going to show you some of the best flea and street markets in Makkah, where you can find amazing deals and unique items.
The first market I'm visiting is the Gabel Street Souq, which is one of the oldest and most popular markets in Makkah. It's located near the Grand Mosque and it's open 24/7, so you can shop anytime you want. This market is famous for its gold and jewelry shops, where you can find stunning pieces at reasonable prices. You can also find a variety of abaya, which are the traditional garments worn by Muslim women. There are many styles and colors to choose from, and you can even customize your own abaya.
Look at this beautiful gold necklace. It's made of 18 karat gold and it has a delicate design. The shopkeeper says it's from Turkey and it costs 500 riyals, which is about 133 dollars. That's a bit expensive for me, so I'm going to try to negotiate. I'm going to offer him 300 riyals, which is about 80 dollars, and see what he says.
He said no to 300 riyals, but he agreed to 400 riyals, which is about 107 dollars. I think that's a fair price for this necklace, so I'm going to buy it. I'm really happy with this purchase. It's a beautiful piece of jewelry and it will always remind me of Makkah.
The next market I'm visiting is the Martyrs Market, which is a new and modern shopping mall that opened in 2023. It's located on the Medina Road and it has a variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. This market is great for finding branded clothes, accessories, electronics, and cosmetics. You can also find some local products, such as dates, honey, and perfume.
Look at this cute dress. It's from Zara and it's made of cotton. It's perfect for the summer and it has a nice floral print. The shopkeeper says it's from Spain and it costs 150 riyals, which is about 40 dollars. That's a bit cheaper than the Zara store in my country, so I think it's a good deal. I'm going to try it on and see how it fits.
I love this dress. It fits me well and it's very comfortable. I think it's a great addition to my wardrobe and it will look good with my gold necklace. I'm going to buy it.
That's it for my shopping vlog in Makkah. I had a lot of fun exploring the different markets and finding some amazing items. I spent a total of 600 riyals, which is about 160 dollars, and I got a gold necklace, an abaya, a dress, and some dates. I think that's a pretty good deal for what I got.
If you ever visit Makkah, I highly recommend you to check out the flea and street markets, as well as the shopping malls. You can find something for everyone and for every budget. Just remember to be respectful of the culture and the religion, and to bargain politely and reasonably.
