Fantastic Train Variety at Preston: Regular and unexpected trains Class 805, 47, 66, 70 05 March 24 A year since my last visit to Preston station. More freight and unexpected workings than I expected! A bright sunny day too! There was an ironic announcement playing for much of the afternoon - it can be heard at the very end of the video! A Class 805 running under test from Euston to Lancaster. Two 3-unit sets of 156s being transferred between the Cumbrian Coast and Heaton depot - and vice versa. Two heavy stone trains from Shap. Class 70001 with a driver training run. Class 47 from West Coast Railways bringing an empty excursion set back to Steamtown at Carnforth Three northbound intermodals The times shown on clips are for guidance only and shouldn't be taken as definitive. Any observations are my own and not intended to show any authority and may show my misunderstanding.
