How do Andrew Wyeth’s depictions of nature celebrate the spirit of the environment in Maine where he painted? Join us on November 15th at 1 p.m. for a virtual conversation about the new exhibition now on view at the Farnsworth through March 24, 2024. This talk will feature Amy C. Morey, Associate Collection Manager of the Andrew & Betsy Wyeth Study Center, lead curator of the exhibition Every Leaf & Twig: Andrew Wyeth’s Botanical Imagination, as well as Will Coleman, PhD, Wyeth Foundation Curator and Director of the Andrew & Betsy Wyeth Study Center.
The Farnsworth’s Gwendolyn Loomis Smith, Phyllis Wyeth Director of Learning and Engagement, will join in a discussion of Andrew Wyeth’s coastal climate and world around him, where his watercolors depict plants as bellwethers of change and sustainability.
