The Faroe Islands, a remote archipelago in the North Atlantic, are one of the most fascinating and least explored destinations on the planet. Situated approximately halfway between Norway and Iceland, these islands offer a unique combination of stunning landscapes and ancient traditions.
Made up of 18 main islands, the Faroe Islands archipelago is known for its dramatic cliffs, deep fjords and lush green hills. The weather conditions can be harsh, but they also contribute to the islands' raw, wild beauty.
The history of the Faroe Islands dates back to the times of the Vikings, who arrived in the archipelago in the 9th century. Viking heritage is still visible in Faroese culture and traditions, from the architecture of the sod-roof houses to the sagas and legends passed down orally over the centuries.
