A 4 Patch Quilt is one of the staples of quilts. There are simple 4 patches, Disappearing 4 Patch Quilts and 4 patch quilts made with strips. I am going to share a floating 4 patch quilt where the 4 patches seemingly float like the Hallelujah Mountains of Pandora (an Avatar reference). This is one of the quilts I reference in my 5 tips for faster quilts video - a simple 4 patch block with 2 more strips added to give the illusion in your quilt that the 4 patch blocks are floating.
This quilt can be made using 5" charm squares and 2 1/2" strips or a combination of pre cuts and yardage you cut yourself. No rules - just fun! This quilt pattern is perfect for any occasion. So break out that rotary cutter and let's get to quilting.
