This is some of the 2024 FE race and reunion held at Beaver Springs dragway. This was a great event with an incredible turnout of cars/people. We had a great time attending this show, seeing old friends, meaning new, and sharing the history of this great engine. Ford FE a brief history...
Production started in 1958 for the new Edsel model car. When Ford didn't have a powerful enough engine for this new heavy car, they went to work on what would become one of the greatest big blocks racing ever saw. It eventually evolved into the famous 427 that hauled Shelby cobras and GT40s to victory at LeMans. The 428 cid version found great success at the dragstrip in the Cobra Jet and Mach 1 Mustangs. It ended up being in some of the fastest, highest powered race cars the world had seen, to working long hours hauling loads in trucks, running cars around town, and even found its way into some industrial applications. It can be found in basically any Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Shelby, Cars trucks race cars, everything until 1976. And is still loved, modified, and raced by gear heads today!
