Join me in making February's braid of the month: the zig-zag braid.
I'll be honest, I have no idea what the real name of this braid is, if you do please let me know!
Usually I would voice over a video but my voice has deserted me so I've tried to add in text where I think it isn't overly clear what I'm doing. Please ask away if you have any questions in the comments.

Measurements:
This will differ slightly depending on the width of cord you use. I used type 3 (550) in this video which is 4mm. To be honest with a 15mm (~5/8 inch) buckle I'd use a thinner cord. All will be revealed below!
Size: Cat/XS Dog - 10mm (~3/8 inch) buckle
Cord recommendation: Microcord or Type 1 (100) cord (2mm or 1/16 inch thick)
Add 0.5 inches to your pet's neck measurement.
Size: Small - 15mm (~5/8 inch) buckle
Cord recommendation: Type 2 (425) cord (3mm or 3/32 inch thick)
Add 1 inch to your pet's neck measurement.
Size: Medium - 20mm (~3/4 inch) buckle
Cord recommendation: Type 3 (550) cord (4mm or 1/8 inch thick)
Add 1.5 inches to your pet's neck measurement.
Size: Large + - 25mm (1 inch) buckle
Cord recommendation: Type 3 (550) cord or 650 paracord (5mm or 3/16 inch thick)
Add 1.5 inches to your pet's neck measurement if using Type 3
Add 2 inches to your pet's neck measurement if using 650
Note: 550 is the most commonly used. 650 might be more difficult to come by in a range of colours.
