Today i walk around Kuta, Lombok, and drop into a new sandwich bar being built by two expat guys I met a week or so ago. A.J. gives me a progress report on how things are going with the fit out and if he's on time for the grand openning.
I discuss the issue of sometimes feeling a bit down or depressed when traveling for extended periods of time and how having a focus or purpose can aleviate some of the feelings. I also understand how being alone and traveling by yourself can be a drawback when you don't have anyone to lean on if you're having a bad day.
We find ourselves back in the fishing village where a couple of locals explain to me the caged roosters in front of them which are used for sport.
I check on the exchange rate to keep an eye on numbers as I need to change money in a few days, and I also stock up on some bananas.
