Symptoms of bad dew wipes/felt guides are scratched windows or cracked rubber.
I chose to cut into my doors to change the felt guides. SOME HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SQUEEZE THE FELT GUIDES BETWEEN THE WINDOW GLASS. ATTEMPT THIS FIRST! I did not have enough clearance to do this on my particular car.
If you further want to avoid cutting, then you will likely have to remove the entire window, which could result in breaking of many plastic retaining clips.
