Bollywood's brief fascination with the underworld ended when after the 1993 Mumbai blasts, the police cracked down on their illicit film financing activities. The arrest of the last gangster from that era, Ravi Pujari earlier this year has put to rest some history that the film industry is not very proud about. But it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as the film industry across India has gone from strength to strength.
