Hi folks, I’m sharing my Filson Mackinaw Cruiser for those of you who may be interested in high quality wool garments. This is an iconic coat that is built to last a lifetime. I also included some newer casual winter wear items. All the best Features Six button front closure Four flap pockets with snaps One patch pocket with slots Two hand-warmer pockets One interior utility pocket with spare button One rear map pocket (works for storing a wool hat, gloves, scarf or rain poncho) Two layers of wool along the back Two button-adjustable cuffs Locker loop for hanging it on a coat hook Made in the USA from 100% virgin wool (24 ounce wool) Color shown: Charcoal Pros: Good warmth, breathable and offers some water-repellency Cons: Not wind resistant Possible improvements: larger buttons, wider collar or perhaps a hood attachment feature. It would also be nice if Filson offered a version lined with moleskin for added comfort and wind resistance. These are some of the items I may choose to wear or carry Filson Mackinaw Cruiser (Charcoal) Filson Seattle Moleskin Shirt (Dark Olive) Filson Alaskan Lightweight Crew Top (Green, long sleeve Merino wool shirt) Filson Fenimore Twill Pants (Warm Khaki) Zach’s Custom Gun Belts (1 ½ inch double thick leather belt with 9 holes) Johnston & Murphy Karnes Alpine boots (Mahogany, Nubuck leather) Wool socks Filson Original Lined Goat Skin Gloves Filson Wool Scarf 72” – 12” Tilley Tec-Wool Hat w/hidden ear flaps (Gentleman's hat, color black, weight 136 grams) Leather Wallet Smartphone Chris Reeve Knives Sebenza 21 (small) Brunton Helios Stormproof Lighter H&K P30SK w/extra mag DeSantis Leather holster (SKU - 002BA5CZ0) Pocono pocket sheath (from KSF) Blackjack Model 155 Neck Knife Klarus X6 Titanium AAA XP-G R5 Zebra Pen Foursevens Preon PenLight AAA 180 Lumens (Brunt Orange) In summary, the Mackinaw Cruiser is high quality wool coat with a vintage look. It performs well in temperatures around the mid 30’s, but multiple layers are required for increased insulation, comfort and wind protection.
