Tung Chung Road is the only road connecting Tung Chung and the southern coast of Lantau. Visitors going from Tung Chung to places like Tai O, Ngong Ping and Cheung Sha must travel along this steep and narrow road.
Due to its geographical nature and constrains, there are some classic moments on show everyday along Tung Chung Road. For instance, vehicles climbing up steep slopes, giving way to oncoming traffic, drivers greeting to one another, huge buses traveling through very narrow bridges etc.
Nevertheless, all these have become memories upon the opening of new Tung Chung Road. A short film is produced to give tribute to the old section, as well as recall our memories about this legendary road which has served us for more than 40 years.
東涌道，是唯一連接東涌及嶼南的行車道路，也即是大家從東涌出發，乘車到大澳、昂坪、長沙等地遊覽時，必經的那段崎嶇、曲折、單線雙程行車的山路。
由於東涌道是必經之路，加上地勢險要、路窄彎多，所以不少的經典畫面，每天都在該處上演──汽車攀越陡峭山嶺、在讓車處等候避車、駕駛者互相問好、龐大的巴士駛過彎角、窄橋，並跟其他車輛擦身而過......
然而，這一幕一幕景象，隨著東涌道新段的開通，已成為大家的集體回憶。製作這段短片，除了要向舊東涌道致敬外，更希望大家經過新段時，都能記得這段獨特的舊路，這四十多年來所立下的汗馬功勞，以及曾經出現的每一幕景象。
