Two years ago, Ernesto saw something that left him intrigued: a flash, perhaps a campfire or even a will-o'-the-wisp, shining from the top of a hill. That vision remained etched in his memory... and today we decided to discover the truth behind that light.
Equipped with metal detectors and all the excitement of a new adventure, Ernesto, Tavo, Ramón and I headed into the mountains. The road was not easy: we crossed gorges and old mining roads aboard an RZR, passing by ruins more than 200 years old built by the workers of the time.
When we could no longer move forward in the vehicle, we began an intense hike. At the top, we found the foundations of old houses, a sign that miners lived and worked there centuries ago. Despite hours of searching and effort, locating the exact location of the flash proved impossible... at least for now.
But the adventure did not end there. On the way back, my metal detector gave us a big surprise: a beautiful silver coin from over 150 years ago! 🎉
We didn't find the source of that mysterious light, but every step was worth it. The breathtaking views, the stories hidden in these mountains, and that unexpected treasure left us wanting to come back.
