Video Not Working? Fix It Now

These are the first 10 skills that I would work on when bringing home a new puppy! We begin one on one training sessions with the puppies we raise here at 5 weeks old. We start with the communication trinity, and by 8 weeks old we have usually touched on most of these skills. This is a perfect place to start when bringing home a puppy or dog at any age, and to begin building that connection and training bond with your new buddy. These 10 tricks will likely all be things your trainer will introduce during puppy kindergarten, so start practicing and you will be the top of your class! In this video I will introduce the following tricks and how to teach your puppy to do them for the first time. My lovely assistants are 8 week old mini aussie puppies. These babies have worked on some of these skills before, but for the most part it is their first time doing it. 1) Communication Trinity (Charging the Clicker, Box Game, Manding) 2) Luring 3) Kennel Games- Intro to Kennel Training 4) Eye Contact- Look/ Watch Me 5) Stay (Using a Platform) 6) Loose Leash Walking 7) Off/ Leave It 8) Collar Grab Game 9) Recall/ Come 10) Play! This video just shows the first steps to introducing these tricks/commands to your pup. Once pup shows a clear understanding of the behaviour, I would then introduce a vocal cue (eg. "Watch Me"), and begin to extend duration (eg. hold eye contact for a count of 2 or 3 before rewarding). Enjoy and have fun training! www.diamondHranch.ca
