My Life With The Walter Boys has won the hearts of my students on Netflix, and I am pleased to say that the series barely strayed from the book by Ali Novak. I have since read another book by her (equally entertaining) Heartbreakers... and must recommend it. This has all the drama of high school (trying to make friends, fit in, experimenting, crushes, confusion, bad choices) and grief. Jackie moves in with this gang of "boys" after tragedy, and doesn't expect to fall for anyone - doesn't think it's right to think of romance at this time, but a heart wants what a heart wants in this realistic fiction. (Actually, may be a bit fantastical considering how gorgeous her new family is.)
