Join me on my first day exploring Tirana, Albania in this exciting travel vlog! Our day was packed with exciting experiences, beautiful sights, and incredible food that made us fall in love with this fascinating city.
We started the day with a traditional Albanian breakfast, trying burek for the first time. It was halal and absolutely delicious, making it the perfect way to kick off our adventure. From there, we headed to Skanderbeg Square, the heart of Tirana, where we stumbled upon protests and were lucky enough to hear the beautiful Azaan being called out loud—a moment that truly touched my heart in a country with such a rich Islamic history.
Next, we visited the iconic Pyramid of Tirana and climbed to the top, taking in breathtaking views of the city. Afterward, we strolled through a Christmas market and were surprised to see so much alcohol in a country with a significant Muslim population—it was truly unexpected!
Later, we explored the massive Toptani Shopping Center, where we marveled at the modernity and variety of stores. After some much-needed rest, we headed out to a halal restaurant called Tak Fak to try traditional Albanian food, which completely won us over with its flavors.

To end our day, we walked to the Monarc Hotel, which overlooks the grand mosque in Tirana, and soaked in the peaceful views. We also prayed at the mosque and enjoyed the lively energy of Independence Day celebrations, where we were entertained by kids singing and performing in the park—it was random, hilarious, and so much fun!
