Well, itโs always bittersweet to say goodbye. In this video, we are leaving Medan and heading to Bukit Lawang. Bukit Lawang is about a 3-hour drive from Medan City. Bukit Lawang is a growing village settled on the banks of the Bohorok River, at the edge of the Gunung Leuser National Park. This park is famous for its protection of the Sumatran Orangutans. There are only two places in the world where you can see these beautiful animals in the wild, both in Indonesia: Sumatra and Kalimantan (Borneo). Today, we will walk around the village, get settled at Thomas Resort, and meet our guide, Bendy, from Trekking Orangutan Sumatra.
In our next video, we head out for a 2-day/ 1-night Jungle Trek. We go in search of wildlife sightings, play in the river, sleep in rustic accommodations, eat an amazing dinner by candlelight, and go river rafting. This is an adventure of a lifetime.
