In this video I bolt up the prop shaft flange and start the Detroit Diesel for the first time in the boat. Before I can do this, however, I need to connect the morse cables, fabricate a bracket for the throttle cable, supply power to the starter motor, and attach the exhaust outlet.
Once the engine starts I have trouble with it stalling due to air in the fuel lines from the boat's fuel tanks (I presume), but I'll investigate that in more detail in the next video.
