After raising our hair sheep, DinDin, for 10 months, it's finally time to take him to the butcher. This is our first time trying lamb, and if we like it, it could become a sustainable food source for our ranch. Follow along as we capture DinDin, transport him, and share our thoughts on this new experience.
Afterward, we head over to @TheCrockers & @thecrockerlife Someday Ranch to visit their animals and bring them some of our extra roosters. They’ll grow them out for food, continuing their own sustainable ranch lifestyle.
Raising our own meat is an important part of homesteading, and we’re excited to take this next step in our journey toward food independence. Let us know in the comments—have you ever raised and processed your own lamb? Would you try it?
