The first 300 meters of my 6 km driveway is a shared access forestry road, used daily by 20-30 vehicles. Over time, deep potholes have formed, making it rough and damaging for vehicles. Driving the old grader down the mountain for this little job would be a torturous journey for the machine, so I opted to trailer my Takeuchi TB217 mini excavator to the site instead.
Using the ripper/pick attachment, I broke up the compacted potholes, then smoothed out the humps and hollows with the excavator blade. The results were surprisingly effective—creating a smoother, much safer road surface.
This DIY project took about 3 hours and made a HUGE difference. #potholerepair #takeuchitb217 #ruralnzlife #offgridliving #excavator
