This video is on “Flash Separation Part 2- Vapour Split Calculations, Typical Applications and Types of Flash Separators“. The target audience for this course is chemical and process engineers and chemical engineering students.

This video is a continuing part of the flash separations. Whereas the part 1 of the subject focused on explaining the concept of flash separation and the flash calculations and their objectives, the part 2 focuses on the most important design requirement of flash – the calculation of the fraction of the feed that is vapourized and separated and the equilibrium concentrations of the vapour and liquid streams exiting the flash tank. The fraction of vapour separated is called the vapour split. The video also throws light on the flash separation process variables and how they can be regulated to achieve the desired separation as well as typical application of flash separation in industries. Watch the video to know more.
