_____
Welcome to FLASH SINS, the series where we dive deep into your favorite Internet series from your childhood and tear it apart from the inside. I use the term "series" loosely because this is the first, and probably the last, episode.
This is the most hefty video project I've done so far, so please leave feedback in the comments. Was it the best thing you ever saw? Should I cut all technology from my life and convert to an Amish lifestyle so you never have to hear from me again? Let me know.
An Experiment and POWERLESS are absent simply because I thought they were sin-free. Those animations get a free ticket to the gates of Flash Heaven, in my book. No repentance required. I was on the fence about including Madness 9.5 Part 1, but chose not to since it didn't feel right to have one part without the other.
I almost gave up on this thing a few times because of one main reason; I have a lot of trouble speaking properly. Between my stutter, my slur, or the other handful of minor disorders I have, speaking in a "normal" way is seriously a challenge for me sometimes. It took me over a thousand failed attempts to record all the lines for this. You read that right...a THOUSAND. The first sin of Madness 2 literally took me around two hundred attempts to nail, that's how bad it is. After I finally succeeded in saying one freaking line, I looked back at the mountain of dead voice lines and thought to myself "you know, maybe I should just quit while I'm ahead..." But I didn't! I have a terrible habit of taking on projects and never finishing them, so I wanted to begin the process of breaking the habit (great Linkin Park song btw).
If the audio quality is all over the place in the first half, allow me to explain. I used an iPhone 8 as my mic and didn't figure out a consistent quiet place to record until just this past week. I think it gets a lot more consistent after the Madness 4 portion of the video. Before that, some of my consecutive lines sound so different due to variation in echo, quality, etc. that it almost sounds like two or three different people talking.
Oh yeah, and keep in mind this video isn't for valid criticism, it's for entertainment. Sometimes I don't even nitpick things, I just make a joke and count that as a sin towards Madness. I also realize a lot of these sins have some degree of logical explanation to them. This is a mix of bad jokes, justified nitpicks, and unjustified nitpicks.
And I sincerely hope you enjoy it.
