What if the classic shibuya-kei movement band Flipper's Guitar, before disbanding in 1991, had tried to break into the western world with an international release? When Pizzicato Five did such, they released "Made In USA", a collection of songs from several different albums and crafted into one highly accessible super-record. Since the first two Flipper's Guitar albums are similar enough, I imagined "oh what the hell, why not try to make the best of both?". Thus resulting in this. Enjoy!
LINER NOTES:
Tracks 2, 4, 5, 8, 11 & 13 from FG's first album "Three Cheers for Our Side" (1989). Tracks 1, 3, 6, 7, 10 & 12 are from their second album "Camera Talk" (1990). Tracks 9 & 14 are non-album single releases. Tracks 3 & 6, while initially from "Camera Talk", are alternate takes that were released on the compilation album "Colour Me Pop".
Additional edits (the intro vinyl crackle, transition drum fill between tracks 5-6, the extended opening to 6, the sample-based intro/outro to track 13) and all sequencing by yours truly.
