This floppy drive will not work due to the head being unable to seek back and forth. It took a lot more effort to fix it than I thought.
If you told me I had started I would need to tear the drive down to the motor's bearing I probably wouldn't have even tried. But this worked out so much better than I would have guessed in the end. I am really thinking about either regreasing the bearings in some other drives or seeing if I can get some quality modern replacements.
I think I may have some other "bad" 5.25" drives kicking around. I'll have to give this a shot on those as well.
