The #4 Seminoles improved to 9-0 on the season after going on the road and defeating Pitt, 24-7. Florida State secured a spot in the ACC Championship game with the win. The FSU defense forced three turnovers, including Fentrell Cypress II punching out the ball at the one-yard line to turn a Pitt touchdown into a Florida State touch back. Quarterback Jordan Travis threw for 360 yards on 22 of 36 passing with both a passing and rushing touchdown. With both their top wideouts out for the game, wide receiver Ja'Khi Douglass stepped up and caught six passes for 115 yards, both career highs. Running back Trey Benson ran for 97 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.
