This will make a bag approximately 17 inches wide by 15 inches high.

Length of fabric selvage to selvage is typically 44 inches

Main Fabric (cutting based on non directional fabric) I suggest buying a yard to give you a little safety factor if fabric isn't cut even and if you miss cut.

two 2 inch by length of fabric then cut in half. You will now have 4 pieces 2 inches by 22 inches. Theses will be for above and below the zipper

two 4 inch by length of fabric then cut in half. You will now have 4 pieces 4 inches by 22 inches. These will be for sides bottom and handle

one 16 inch by length of fabric then cut into two 16 by 18 1/2. This will be the back of the bag and the inner lining of the pocket.

Contrast fabric- I suggest 3/4 yard to give you a little safety factor if fabric isn't cut even and if you miss cut.

Cut 1 piece 18 1/2 by length of fabric.
Then cut 27 x 18 1/2 fold in half for a piece 13 1/3 x 18 1/2

You will need to cut from fusible stabilizer
13 1/2 x 18 1/2

You will need to cut from vinyl
12 x 15 1/2

one plastic zipper(not metal and not invisible) 18 inches.
