It's December now and it's a hectic schedule, but I've been working in the garden in preparation for spring.
Due to the warm winter, I pulled out the annuals that had been flowering until recently and cut off the above-ground parts of the dead perennials.
There are sale seedlings at the end of the gardening season, so I planted some that I had bought and some seedlings that I had sown in the fall.
It's forecast to be cold over the New Year holidays, so I mulched the area with bark compost to protect it from the cold.
I went to Karuizawa in early November to see the autumn leaves, but I only caught a glimpse of the cute wild birds I saw there and wanted to buy seedlings at FLOWER FIELD, which was closed, so I returned in late November.
One of the reasons was that I wanted to enjoy Karuizawa with fewer tourists, and it's fun to walk through the bright forest with fallen leaves looking for wild birds.
