FOR BEGINNERS: HOW TO Record Realistic Flight Simulator Videos In this video I explain the basics of how to record realistic flight simulator videos of top quality. My hardware • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 • CPU: Intel Core i7-12700 • Internal Memory: 32 GB • NVIDIA Game Filter settings (for more vibrant and natural colours, more sharpness, and other screen improvements). I have used the following settings for the NVIDIA Game Filter (but please note they may look different depending on your monitor colour and refresh settings - please try out yourself to find what works for you): ----- Color, with: Tint Color = 0, Tint Intensity = 20, Temperature = -12, Vibrance = 50; ----- Details, with: Sharpen = 0, Clarity = 60, HDR Toning = 50, Bloom = 12; ----- Sharpen, with: Intensity = 50, Ignore Film Grain = 100. How to boost your FPS and avoid screen tearing: - Reboot your PC before opening MSFS. - Keep CPU intensive apps closed while playing MSFS. - Set terrain LOD never above 200, rather around 100-150. - Avoid moving aircraft traffic. Moving aircraft traffic always ruins FPS, even with RTX 4090. Even ship traffic and airport vehicles cost FPS. - Use native monitor refresh rate. - Try lower resolution. My videos are all recorded at 3840x1440, which is lower than 4K, but still the same horizontal pixel number as 4K. This frees up system resources. - Turn on adaptive sync in your monitor menu. - Turn on 'HAGS' (Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling) in windows settings - Turn on G-Sync in the Nvidia Control Panel - Set max FPS to 60FPS in the Nvidia Control Panel - Check tutorials in Youtube to set up optimal Nvidia Control Panel settings for you, e.g., set Power management Mode to 'Prefer maximum performance'. - If you want to record videos, replay them at 50% speed in your Replay tool and speed them up to 100% in your video editing software, that doubles your FPS.
