Who would have thought this occupation could generate income and be in demand by foreigners from China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and Korea? What occupation is it?
Samrit Pratangpalo, or Taew, 52, from Maha Sarakham province, is the owner of a farm breeding giant forest scorpions and centipedes. She turned a crisis into an opportunity when she had to return home to care for her mother, who suffered from cerebrovascular disease. Taew didn't give up but instead sought business opportunities while caring for her family.
Before starting the scorpion and centipede farm, Taew worked in various jobs: a yarn spinning factory, camera sales, jasmine growing and garland selling, lingerie sales, and even a cricket farm that ultimately failed. One day, while walking through a market, she noticed fried insect stalls selling scorpions and centipedes. This inspired her to start her own farm.
Taew observed that scorpions and centipedes eat crickets, which was convenient as she had experience with cricket farming. Currently, her business has expanded to international markets, especially in Asia, including China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and Korea, generating significant income.
Taew's story is inspirational, showing that with determination, learning, and adaptability, we can turn obstacles into opportunities and achieve success even in the most challenging situations. Today's mission will certainly involve centipedes and scorpions, which requires specific skills and expert supervision. The exact nature of the mission remains to be seen...
