I'm using some vintage wrought iron and 125Cr1 high carbon steel to forge weld san mai and make a knife.
This high carbon steel requires a very fast cooling rate to attain full hardness, so I'll be using a water quench.
Wrought iron is a neat material, and while not produced in modern times, old pieces can be repurposed into a one of a kind tool for a new lease on life.
