這一首古老的華語流行歌曲《綠島小夜曲》，所指的(綠島)曾經被誤認為是關押政治犯的(火燒島)，因此便有好事者編出浪漫唯美屬於火燒島《綠島小夜曲》的故事。其實這首歌的綠島指的是(台灣島)，它是第一首在台灣正式灌錄成唱片的華語歌曲。西元1987年香港編劇南燕填上了粵語歌詞，定名為《友誼之光》而成為電影《監獄風雲》的主題曲，南燕也因此而一舉成名。(特別強調本頻道無政治立場，切勿藉此操作，感恩蛤！)

《綠島小夜曲》是作曲家周蘭萍所譜曲，潘英傑填詞。周蘭萍隨國民黨政府初到台灣時，發現這個島嶼處處充滿著綠意，所以他所謂的綠島指的就是台灣。其實在歌詞方面也有有各種不同說法，要知道真實原因可能只有去觀落陰問問周蘭萍本人了。周蘭萍過世後其夫人一直不願讓兒女們過問父親的往事，直到她辭世，他們的女兒周揚明用了超過一 年的時間多方查證、探訪了父親的昔日老友後才證實《綠島小夜曲》所描寫的並不是綠島監獄，她也意外發現這首歌曲原來是父親當年追求媽媽時所寫的情歌。嗯~ 問題就在這裡，既然是情歌又怎會有請潘英傑代筆歌詞的道理呢？

"Formosa Serenade" is the first Mandarin song officially recorded in Taiwan.
Taiwan was also referred to as "Formosa Island" by Europeans and Americans in its early days, with the Taiwan Strait being known as the "Formosa Strait." It is generally believed that in the mid-16th century, Portuguese sailors, upon encountering Taiwan, exclaimed in awe, shouting "Ilha Formosa!" which means "Beautiful Island" in Portuguese.
The composer of this song, Chou Lan-Ping, relocated to Taiwan in 1949. Upon his arrival on the island, he was captivated by its lush beauty. Later, while courting his girlfriend, he was inspired to compose this love song. Here are the lyrics:
