Friday Night Funkin' (also stylized as FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN'; often abbreviated FNF) is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel programmed by ninjamuffin99 with its soundtrack composed mainly by Kawai Sprite and its artwork and animations by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r.
The game was originally created for Ludum Dare 47, a game jam event with the theme being 'Stuck in a Loop.' The version of the game that would now be known as the Ludum Dare prototype would be released on the 5th of October, 2020, the jam's last day for submissions. The current version of the game was released to Newgrounds on the 1st of November, 2020. It can also be played on itch.io. On the itch.io page, it can also be downloaded for Windows, macOS and Linux devices for free or with an optional donation.
Friday Night Funkin' is drawn and animated in a manner that nostalgically encapsulates Newgrounds' Flash animations with an art style inspired by graffiti street art. The game features multiple weeks where the player is confronted with various opponents with multiple songs.
The full version of the game, dubbed Friday Night Funkin': The Full Ass Game, is currently in-development, having been successfully funded via an official Kickstarter campaign.
ILLEGAL INSTRUCTION is a mod owned and directed by averyavary also known in the GD community as Cirtrax. The two main stars of the mod are Duke and Chaotix with more characters in there too. At first the mod was cancelled due to backlash and controversy, but recently, Avery announced its revival on YouTube and Twitter. V1 will have Duke, Chaotix, Chotix and Wechnia (the Knuckles' Chaotix glitch). Some characters like Hog, NormalCD, and Curse will be removed.
NormalCD was an EXE created by JesterFrog, but due to her controversy, swapped owners to Kenji Grimm, who got into controversy of their own, to being permanently shelved. He is the son of Revived and was created for a Project: Glass Cannon, an experiment to create life out of soul glass. He was sadly banished to the void due to Revived fearing that he was made a monstrosity. He was supposed to appear in Vs. Sonic.Exe but due to the mod getting canned he was moved to ILLEGAL INSTRUCTION. However, he will be removed in the new ILLEGAL INSTRUCTION.
Metal Sonic is one of the main antagonists in the Sonic the Hedgehog Franchise. Metal is a Sonic robotic copycat made by Dr. Robotnik.
However, this is the NormalCD Continuity version of Metal Sonic. He teams up with Amy to beat NormalCD in the scrapped song Found You. Their "nicknames" for this continuity is "Normal". (Such as "Soul")
Amy Rose is one of the main characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog Franchise.
However, this Amy is from the NormalCD Continuity. She teams up with Metal Sonic to beat NormalCD in the scrapped song Found You. Their "nicknames" for this continuity is "Normal". (Such as "Soul")
X, better known as Sonic.exe (sometimes stylized as Sonic.EXE), is the titular main antagonist of the infamous Creepypasta of the same name and its sequel Round 2.
He is an anomalous, interdimensional energy-based entity driven by an instinctive lust for destruction and pain. Becoming completely obsessed with enslaving the human race, X took the form of Sonic the Hedgehog and created a haunted CD-ROM copy of the original Sega Genesis game that acted as a portal separating his dimension from Earth. Since then, he's been using his cult to pass down the game from victim to victim, hoping to one day use it to merge the two realms together and rule the human world and other worlds as a god.
