Based on the first book in Frank Gruber's Johnny Fletcher/Sam Cragg series, with a screenplay by Gruber himself. Features Mike Mazurki as Sam, and Joe DeRita (destined to become the wholly unsatisfactory replacement Stooge "Curly Joe") as a detective.
