Fred Dibnah
I have wanted to make a video about this guy for a long time. With my love for chimneys and all things industrial, it was only a matter of time before I headed out with him in mind.
I got given a book of his recently, and I enjoyed reading it so much, I thought I would take it with me on one of my wanderings, and read little bits out thatI found enjoyable.
He was a man who lived in a different world. All he wanted to do was meand steam engines and restore chimneys. It was a real shame, and he knew it, that he became famous for demolishing chimneys. He would have left them up if he could.
In Burnley, which I explored with this video, there are still a load of chimneys left. I would have filmed this in bolton, but unfortunately, Fred got rid of them all there.
Until next time,
W.T
