Learn techniques and strategies for going from beginner to intermediate and beyond as a free-motion art quilter as I quilt a whole cloth centerpiece mat. This project provides free-motion quilting practice--meandering and thread-painting--and results in a square or rectangular piece that we will bind by machine in the next tutorial, utilizing fusible thread in the bobbin. Materials include 2 fat quarters in appropriate prints, in fabrics you like, and batting to go between them.
