Today I'm talking about the currently 'back in production' Analogue Productions Louis Armstrong Audio Fidelity reissues of the classic 1960 'hifi' recording Satchmo Plays King Oliver. These stunning 33rpm and 45rpm audiophile pressings, cut by Bernie Grundman from the original 1960 master tapes really showcase, this staggeringly vivid and real-sounding recording.
Having been seduced back into the era of the 1920s I was compelled to dig out some of my 1920s, 1930s & 1940s 78s and play them on my original 1931 HMV Model 102 portable gramophone.
