In this video an old Pushomatic load center is upgraded to a new 200A MB 40/ 80 circuit panel in Freehold, New Jersey. This job took a lot of work because a meter lug was broken during the upgrade so a new meter enclosure had to be installed and coordination with the utility company was needed for a disconnect/ reconnect. This code allows for existing structures requiring repairs and alterations and deletes sections of the National Electric Code such as 230.85 that requires EMERGENCY DISCONNECTS. ALL New Jersey licensed electricians MUST complete 34-hours of continuing education units each tricentennial period. This includes a mandatory 10-hour code update course.
